  22. The following assumes that you have the current USR INF file for
  23. Win95 (available on the USR BBS and FTP server), and that the modem
  24. is installed correctly.

  26. If you can't get your modem to auto-answer under Delrina WinFax 7.0
  27. (for Windows 95), even though auto-answer is checked under Setup |
  28. Receive, particularly if you have updated and/or redetected your
  29. modem, try the following:
  30.  
  31. 1.  Open Setup | Modem.
  32.  
  33. a)  Be sure the modem is listed as the "Active modem."  If it is not,
  34. select the modem and click the "Set as Active" key.
  35.  
  36. b)  Select the modem and click "Properties."  Make sure "TAPI" is
  37. selected as the "Communictions port."  Click OK.
  38.  
  39. c)  Click OK to close the Modems dialog box.
  40.  
  41. 2.  Open Setup | Receive.
  42.  
  43. a)  Be sure "Automatically answer incoming calls" is checked.  Set the
  44. number of rings to "2" (at least until you get it working).
  45.  
  46. b)  Click OK to close the Receive Properties dialog box.  IMPORTANT: 
  47. BE *SURE* TO CLICK OK -- do not press <esc> or click cancel EVEN IF YOU
  48. MADE NO CHANGES.
  49.  
  50. Watch to see if the message "Fax/modem enabled" appears at the left
  51. end of the Status Bar, and if a small modem icon appears in the first
  52. pane of the Status Bar.
  53.  
  54. NOTE:  YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THESE STEPS EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE YOUR MODEM,
  55. EVEN THOUGH WINFAX STILL SHOWS A CHECK BY AUTO-ANSWER!
